Target audience: Intermediate
Parrot Intermediate Representation (PIR) is the core language for writing extensions, modules, tools, compiler transformations, and more for Parrot. While the syntax is quite simple, the power it gives you will be familiar to anyone who has worked with a dynamic language like Perl. This talk will walk you through the basics, and on to a level where you'll be prepared to handle advanced uses. An informal hackathon will be running throughout the workshop, where you can get more training in PIR or in working on the Parrot project.
